Ford Unveils New Mustang GT4 Racecar on Forgeline One Piece Forged Monoblock GS1R Wheels
At a formal public unveiling in Spa, Belgium, Ford has introduced their new 2024 factory-engineered global GT4 racing platform, the next generation of the Ford Mustang GT4. And like the original Mustang GT4 that debuted at the 2016 SEMA Show, the brand new Mustang GT4 platform will also be racing on Forgeline one piece forged monoblock GS1R wheels.
Ford’s new factory-direct Mustang GT4 is built in partnership with Multimatic Motorsports. It’s powered by a Coyote-based V8 engine developed by Ford Performance mated to a paddle-shifted Holinger dog-ring gearbox and rides on an upgraded competition-approved suspension package, Multimatic DSSV dampers, Brembo brakes, Pirelli slicks, and 18×11 Forgeline one piece forged monoblock GS1R wheels (shown here in Satin Bronze).
“The Mustang GT4 is a key member of our motorsports lineup,” according to Mark Rushbrook, Global Director, Ford Performance Motorsports. “It’s placement between the Mustang GT3 and soon-to-be-unveiled Mustang Dark Horse R keeps the brand in competition at all levels of on-track performance and is an important part of our customer racing program. With this new version, based off the seventh generation’s new Dark Horse model, we’ve upped the game and are ready to challenge an entire world of competitors.”
“We are extremely proud to continue our relationship with the Ford racing program and to manufacture our forged monoblock GS1R wheels for the new Mustang GT4 platform,” said Forgeline Global Sales Manager, Steve Schardt. “Every single member of the Forgeline team values our relationship with Ford and takes pride in seeing our wheels made here in Dayton, Ohio competing around the world at the highest levels of motorsport.”
The new Ford Mustang GT4 will be available for the 2024 competition season. Racers and teams interested in acquiring a Mustang GT4 to enter into competition can learn more at: https://www.ford.com/performance/mustang-gt4
